Daucsend Love card

Happy Wednesday. I made this card for my husband. Simply a 5×5 inch white card stock base, lovely printed paper, puffy hearts and dot and black velvet trim from Studio Calico’s February kit, and these cute stamps from Close to My Heart. I colored in the little daucsend with a couple of shades of Copic markers (E37 and E39).

Here’s a photo of the stamp set, which is available from CTMH as a hostess reward, which I chose for the cute and versatile images. Send me a message if you’re interested in it.

Happy crafting!

vintage typewriter and sentiment stamp set

I love this stamp set! It has a ton of sayings in this cute typewriter font, and a cute vintage typewriter image. This month of April, it is available for $5 with a $50 order, or $17.95 if purchased with an order under $50, at Close to My Heart (http://papercraftjoy.ctmh.com) . As soon as it arrives to my door, I will be making a notecard set with a matching holder and will post again. Cheers!

Romantic Cards

These cards were a lot of fun to make. I used paper from Heartfelt Creations and ribbon.  These papers are so pretty that all I did was to cut out the center panels, distressed the edges with ink and attached them to the middle of the card using sticky foam pads. I also raised the sentiment on the second card up with stick foam after inking the edges with distress ink.

Happy Fall Cards

card_2

Hello, and happy Fall! It is lovely outside, and I am amazed at the trees’ transformation and colors. It is a special time of year of renewal and blessings. I’ve been creating Thanksgiving and Thank you cards. I made these two cards as part of a set of 15 cards (5 of each of 3 designs) from an easy and fun workshop kit. It includes a versatile stamp set that I know I’ll use often. Here’s a link to the kit. I’m also starting to decorate the house with leaves, a couple of simple banners and the kids’ artwork.

I’ve also started up my scrapbook/photo album for the new year (the Jewish New Year begins in September). Although I still need to complete my photo album for last year, I am taking it little by little, and enjoying it! There is a lot to catch up on.

In anticipation of the fun photos we’ve been taking in October – the pumpkin farm, Boo at the Zoo, my Cake Club spooky-theme cakes meeting, and Halloween when the kids will trick-or-treat at 5 neighbors house, I’ve made up some Halloween themed photo albums – I can’t wait to fill them with photos, and I’ll be sure to post them. For Halloween, I made a few of this card for my kids and a few of their friends. I used this cute stamp set, that the kids have fun using too – it has different eyes, wings and bodies for the sweet little owls.

I hope you’re all enjoying the season!

What a Hoot! Card

Happy Tuesday! Check out my crazy little owl! I used this super cute stamp set from CTMH, Chalk It Up! papers, and flaxen and sorbet ink pads. My four-year old daughter likes my card too, and I’m look forward to creating some owl friends with her. Stamping with different inks is one of her favorite types of art projects. This stamp was the August stamp-of-the-month, and isn’t available now, but here is a link to some other excellent Halloween stamps, like the stamp set above called Halloween Greetings.

I look forward to starting my fall crafts – the seasons changing, autumn holidays, and mindfulness of blessings. I have some banners planned, some candle wraps, and table centerpieces. Leave a comment with any fall crafts you have planned!

Cheers!

Tree of Love Cards

photo 3 photo 4

I made these cards using Close to My Heart’s September stamp set – until the end of the month, it’s $5 with an order of $50 or more, or $17 alone. I adore this tree with the two hearts in the center – I can see using it in a mini album and framed for the wall. Here’s how I made the first card:

1. Cut background patterned paper to 5×7. I used a paper from CTMH’s Chalk It Up paper collection, and cut it from the top of the sheet so that it would have the strip of blue along the edge.

2. I stamped the tree image in flaxen ink, and stamped the small hearts in sorbet ink around the tree. These colors match the paper line perfectly and they are gorgeous when the dry – and you can stamp right over them. I cut the white card stock around the tree, and adhered it to my background paper.

3. I stamped “Love” in black ink over the background paper below the tree.

4. I added a heart embellishment from the assortment that is part of the Chalk it Up collection.

I created my second card with some leftover papers and the love stamp in sorbet, and heart in flaxen ink.

Have a great week and create!

Lacy Bloom card

I loved making this card. The blooms stamp and die are easy to use to make multiple stamps at once, and the coloring with chalk ink and stamp paint is fun and quick. The stamps, die and paper are from Heartfelt Creations. But the relaxing part is also shaping the blossoms and putting it together. It’s a fun moment when it became a flower!

I also feel a connection to Psalm 46.  A translation of the Hebrew text (click here for the source) is below the card photo. Thanks!

Psalms Chapter 46

1 For the Leader; [a Psalm] of the sons of Korah; upon Alamoth. A Song.
2 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
ג  עַל-כֵּן לֹא-נִירָא, בְּהָמִיר אָרֶץ;    וּבְמוֹט הָרִים, בְּלֵב יַמִּים. 3 Therefore will we not fear, though the earth do change, and though the mountains be moved into the heart of the seas;
4 Though the waters thereof roar and foam, though the mountains shake at the swelling thereof. Selah
5 There is a river, the streams whereof make glad the city of God, the holiest dwelling-place of the Most High.
6 God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, at the approach of morning.
7 Nations were in tumult, kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
8 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our high tower. Selah
9 Come, behold the works of the LORD, who hath made desolations in the earth.
10 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; {N}
He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariots in the fire.
11 ‘Let be, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’
יב  יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת עִמָּנוּ;    מִשְׂגָּב-לָנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב סֶלָה. 12 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our high tower. Selah {P}

Arianna Blooms Cards

After a truly stressful and over-packed week of work in my law practice, I was so relieved to have hours last night to play and create with beautiful blossoms and a lovely card kit.  Then I created my own card. I love how they all turned out and, right now, I would find it very hard to give any of them away (which of course I will eventually). In this post are photos of the cards I made from Heartfelt Creations card kit for the Arianna Blooms collection, which you can find >>here<<.   In my next post I will show the card I created.
